It’s taken me a minute to feel cognizant enough since returning from the orient to even attempt any sort of reflection on my time there.. But I think I can properly conclude that Beijing is magical, and my semi-limited experience with the people of China has taught me more strongly/positively about the human race than anything I’ve experienced in America in recent months. They embrace their free moments with more gratitude and grace, without shame or inhibition… It’s something we should all be reinforced by on a daily basis. 

I was filming this video of a dance group in Beihai Park when a man came up next to me and started singing along. This kind of openness and pride about their culture isn’t unusual. I was so pleasantly surprised to be as welcomed there as everyone I encountered made me feel.
